Buttercream Flowers
Piping buttercream into life-like flowers is a timeless cake decorating adornment. In this final class of the Buttercream Essentials Certificate, brought to you by NY Cake Academy’s Cake Decorating Fundamentals, you’ll learn the proper tools and hand skills to build modern buttercream flowers layer by layer. Guided by our expert instructors, you’ll practice piping four different buttercream flowers—blossoms, English roses, anemone and traditional roses. Additionally, you’ll receive the training to create the intricate geometric pattern of a woven basket—the basketweave. Using your newly learned techniques, you’ll create vibrant and realistic floral sprays to meticulously place on your Basket Flower Cake for a dazzling finish to this class!

-How to make an American Buttercream
-How to properly hold and use a piping bag, couplers and tips
-To assemble a square cake and practice using a turntable
-Practice piping techniques to achieve a basketweave effect
-How to create piped 3D buttercream flowers

-How to create a floral spray
NY Cake Academy classes are held in our Manhattan flagship at 118 W 22nd St. All supplies and materials included, but if you require any special accomodations please don't hesitate to contact us at custom@nycakeacademy.com. Our classes hands-on, interactive experiences. So, please dress accordingly. We recommend wearing casual clothing that you won’t mind getting a little sugar on, and flat comfortable shoes. Open toed shoes and sandals are not recommended as this is a safety concern when working within a kitchen. Long hair should be tied back.
